Microbac has had great success in developing a test that can detect SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, on surfaces. The test is specifically intended for use on high-touch areas such as restroom stalls, door handles, grocery carts or pin pads. Microbac’s co-director of molecular biology is Dr. Aaron Peacock, who is a Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science (BESS) alumnus.
