Jialin Hu successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation: ”Impacts of Soil Management on Microbial Assemblages Involved in Nitrogen Transformations in Agroecosystems in Tennessee, USA.” Her work revealed insights into important relationships between microbial functional capacity and activity and associated nitrogen pools and processes in the field, adding to our understanding of the effects of soil health management practices on soil N-cycling microbial ecology. Jialin’s major advisor is Dr. Jennifer DeBruyn and members of her committee are Dr. Sean Schaeffer, Dr. Sindhu Jagadamma, and Dr. Patrick Keyser. Jialin has accepted a postdoctoral position at the North Carolina State University.
