The advisory committee for master’s students shall consist of a minimum of three members having academic rank of Assistant Professor or above. Two, or more, members, including the major professor, are to be from the Biosystems Engineering & Soil Science Department, with at least one member having some teaching appointment. One or more members may be from outside the department. If a students selects a minor, one or more committee members must be from the minor department. Because of the diverse nature of the departmental faculty, BSE master committees must be chaired by a faculty member with disciplinary training in biosystems engineering, while a BSET master’s committee must be chaired or co-chaired by a faculty member with disciplinary training in engineering or engineering technology.
