American Geophysical Union (AGU)
Dr. Sean Schaeffer has served in the American Geophysical Union as a Chair for the Hilker Early Career Award Committee in 2020. He is currently serving as the Secretary Elect for the Biogeosciences Section in 2021-2022.
American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS)
Dr. Douglas Hayes is currently serving as a Member-at-Large for the Governing Board since 2018 and as a member of the Books and Special Publications Committee and Kausnitz Award Committee.
American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE)
Several faculty members from BESS have served or is currently serving in the ASABE. Dr. Julie Carrier is serving on the Board of Trustees from 2019 – 2022. Ekramul Ehite is serving as a Member of the ASABE Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) Committee and as a Member-at-Large, ASABE Young Professional Committee Executive team for 2020-2021. Dr. Lori Duncan is serving as a Vice-Chair, ASE-16 Engineering for Sustainability Committee and as Vice-Chair of the MS-23/7/3 Cotton Engineering Committee for 2020-2021. Dr. Andrea Ludwig is BESS’ representative on ASABE E 05-02 Post Secondary Outreach Committee. Dr. Al Womac is serving on: E-08 Fellows, EOPD-204 Engineering & Technology Accreditation, ES-220 Biobased Energy, Fuels and Products, ES-238 Solid Biofuel and US TAG for ISO TC 238, MS-6 Application Systems, and MS-23/7/2 Forage & Biomass Engineering.
American Society of Agronomy (ASA)
Dr. Nutifafa Adotey is currently a Member of the ASA K-12 Committee from 2020 to 2021. Dr. Sindhu Jagadamma served as the Presiding Chair of the Global Climate Change Community in 2018 and Soil Carbon & Greenhouse Gas Emission Community in 2019. Dr. Jagadamma is currently serving as the Vice-Chair Elect of the Organic Management Systems Community in 2021 and will be Vice Chair in 2022 and Presiding Chair in 2023. Dr. Debasish Saha is currently serving as Vice-Chair of the Soil Carbon and Greenhouse Gas Community in 2021 and will be Chair Soil Carbon and Greenhouse Gas Community for 2022.
Soil Science Society of America (SSSA)
Several faculty members from BESS have served or is currently serving in the SSSA. Dr. Debasish Saha has served on the Soil and Water Management and Conservation Division Mentoring Committee for 2020-2021. Dr. Sindhu Jagadamma is currently serving on the Soil and Water Management and Conservation Division Student Mentoring Program in 2020-2021. Dr. Jaehoon Lee is serving on the Soil Physics and Hydrology Early Career Award Committee for 2020-2021. Dr. Jennifer DeBruyn has served on the K12 Outreach Committee since 2019. Dr. Sean Schaeffer has served on the Soil Biology Graduate Student Scholarship Committee in 2020, is serving as Chair Elect of the Soil and Environmental Quality Division in 2021 and will serve as Chair of the Soil and Environmental Quality Division in 2022.
